This candidacy advocates for a university open to society and capable of addressing contemporary challenges, namely demographic changes, rapid technological development, and the management of energy and environmental resources, in alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations. It pursues this through a strategy aimed at consolidating the University of Aveiro as a reference institution, drivenby innovation, sustainability, and pluralism, promoting inclusive high-quality education, impactful research, and deep connections to both society and the region, following the RIS3 regional development strategy. The candidacy is grounded on six fundamental principles, translated into strategic commitments for the future of the institution. These principles and commitments will guide the actions of the list within the General Council, which will, in fulfilling its duties, strive to promote the implementation of concrete measures by the University’s executive bodies.
